One of the notable achievements praised in the statement is Governor Makinde’s historic appointment of a disabled person as an Executive Assistant, marking the first time in the state’s history. The governor also approved the appointment of a disabled person as Special Assistant (S.A) and facilitated the appointment of one disabled person as a supervisory councilor, along with several others as S.A.s for each of the 33 local government areas in Oyo State.

Additionally, a visually impaired lawyer was appointed as a legal officer to the state Ministry of Oyo Justice, demonstrating the government’s dedication to providing equal opportunities for all.

The groups commended these positive steps taken by Governor Makinde, emphasizing that these initiatives have played a pivotal role in ensuring the welfare of the disabled community in the state. They also called on the governor to continue these impactful measures, pledging their unwavering support for his re-election and continued efforts towards a people-oriented government.
